Starting Lessons Again

Crossed fingers

This is an old article dating from the end of the first Covid lockdown.

Well, I’m on the cusp of starting teaching again. I’ve held back because I am carer to my elderly parents, but I have bills to pay and need to start generating income – albeit definitely less than usual for the time being.

But they don’t make it easy when you’re concerned about COVID-19. I have three new starters lined up, two of which are referrals. I spoke with one today who couldn’t take my initial call… because she was at the hairdressers. One of my existing pupils has a test booked for early September… and she’s off to Greece this week. To be fair to both of them, they fully understand my predicament and and have said they will let me know if there are any risks. The one who’s going to Greece is going to isolate for two weeks before taking lessons.

Roll on a vaccine.
